Fujimoto Tadahito Shuzojo is located in Fujiidera City, Osaka, and is the precious sole remaining brewery in Minami-Kawachi. The brewery stands in front of the gates of Fujiidera Temple, the 5th station of the Saigoku Kannon Pilgrimage.
One of its most distinctive activities is brewing sake that conveys the history of "Inomanari," a Japanese student who traveled to Xi'an, China, as an envoy to the Tang Dynasty. Inomanari's epitaph is considered the oldest reliable example of the name "Nippon" (Japan) being used, and with his roots tied to Fujiidera, the brewery captures this historical romance in their bottles.
Their handmade sakes, created with unsparing labor, such as the local favorite "Shokazuru," "Tamamizu," and the owner's namesake "Miyabiichi," are all characterized by a solid, honest flavor.
Protecting regional history and offering cup sake tastings to visitors, they continue to play a role as a cultural hub for Minami-Kawachi.
