The name comes from "Inomanari," a Japanese student who traveled to China as an envoy to the Tang Dynasty about 1,300 years ago and passed away in Xi'an. His epitaph contains the oldest example of the name "Nippon" (Japan), and his origins are believed to be in Fujiidera.
