Akashi Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. is a sake brewer located in Akashi City, founded in 1856 (Ansei 3).
Currently, it exports 95% of its products overseas, and is an international brewery expanding to about 25 countries mainly in the US and UK.
The representative brand "Akashi-Tai" is a flagship product that has been produced around 1960 with the hope of becoming the "King of Sake" because Akashi's sea bream is so delicious that it is called the "King of Fish".
As for sake rice, it carefully selects the highest quality rice harvested in the Special A district of Ono City, the production area of Yamada Nishiki, and generously polishes it to 38% for Daiginjo and 60% even for Junmai sake.
It is a brewery with extremely high international acclaim, such as winning the Gold Medal and Platinum Award at the Kura Master in France, the Feminalise World Wine Competition, and the U.S. National Sake Appraisal in 2020.
In addition to sake, it also manufactures whiskey and craft gin, and opened a visitor center in August 2022 to offer brewery and distillery tours.
Its sake is also served on the luxury liner Queen Elizabeth, and is recognized as Akashi's sake to boast to the world.
