DATE SEVEN is a collaboration project formed by seven sake breweries in Miyagi Prefecture: Katsuyama, Suminoe, Hakurakusei, Yamawa, Hagino Tsuru, Urakasumi, and Koganezawa.
Named with the meaning of "Seven Brave Warriors" brewing sake in the Date Domain (Miyagi), it started from a discussion among brewery owners, who have close relationships across generations, about creating a prominent movement like Akita's NEXT5.
DATE SEVEN is a unique initiative where the seven members share the sake brewing process, creating delicious sake together. They change roles every year and brew limited edition sake with different concepts. Consistent with the name "Seven," they are committed to unveiling the sake annually on July 7th.
To challenge the national and international markets, the project has restarted as SEASON2, adopting a style where you can compare the individuality of each brewery using the same rice. It is a project that embodies the spirit of collaboration, bringing together the brewing techniques and personalities of Miyagi.
