Tatsuizumi Shuzo, founded in 1877, is a skilled brewery in Aizu-Wakamatsu City that pursues the possibilities of Junmai sake under the banners of "Tradition, Passion, and Sincerity."
They stick to using 100% Aizu-grown rice, practicing community-rooted brewing using natural spring water from the foot of Mt. Bandai and Mt. Iide combined with their own pure well water. Their most notable achievement is reviving the legendary sake rice "Kyo no Hana," which had once disappeared, and maximizing its unique character—an effort highly acclaimed by sake fans nationwide.
Under the passion of 3rd-generation Shinji Shinjo and Toji Seishi Hareyama, their sake made from the revived "Kyo no Hana" (which took five years to bring back) has won numerous Gold Medals at the National New Sake Awards. While producing in small quantities, they stick to "quality of handcraft," infusing Aizu's rich terroir and the craftsman's soul into every bottle to deliver a sincere sake that resonates with the drinker.
