Kambai Shuzo

Kambai Shuzo was founded in 1918 (Taisho 7) by Sekijiro Iwasaki, a landowner, and has continued sake brewing sticking to locally grown rice.
Although they suffered devastating damage with the brewery being completely destroyed by the Great East Japan Earthquake, they rebuilt the brewery in December of the same year and achieved a miraculous revival.
The biggest feature is that it is a "Cultivation Brewery" (Saibai Jozo-gura). They cultivate sake rice in-house and cover all raw rice with Miyagi prefecture grown rice. With the concept of "Sake that calls spring to the heart," they brew sake with a beautiful and gentle taste where the umami of rice and gorgeous aroma harmonize.
It has been ranked No. 1 in the Miyagi Sake Ranking and has been adopted for first class and suite class on international flights, receiving high acclaim both domestically and internationally.
