Sekiya Jozo, founded in 1864, is a brewery located in the mountains of Shitara-cho, Aichi Prefecture, at an altitude of about 1,000 meters. Under the philosophy of "Wajo Ryoshu" (Human harmony brews good sake, and good sake brews human harmony), it brews sake by fusing traditional techniques with the latest technology.
The most distinctive feature of this brewery is that it operates its own vast rice fields and handles everything consistently from the cultivation of raw material rice. Using mainly Aichi's sake-brewing rice "Yume Sansui" and "Yamada Nishiki," the sake brewed in the best environment embraced by rich mountains has an appealing flavor with clarity and depth that brings out the full potential of the rice. While protecting regional culture, it is one of Aichi's leading breweries that continues to challenge the possibilities of new brewing.
