Naeba Shuzo is a long-established brewery founded in 1907, located in Tsunan Town, Nakauonuma District, Niigata Prefecture, one of the heaviest snowfall areas in Japan. Located at the foot of Mt. Naeba, one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan, it conveys the traditional 'Kanzukuri' (brewing in the cold of winter) unique to snow country in a harsh natural environment covered with several meters of snow in winter.
For the brewing water, it uses pure snowmelt water flowing from Mt. Naeba. Through low-temperature long-term fermentation that takes advantage of the extremely cold climate, it pursues a 'light and elegant' quality, which is the essence of Niigata sake. In recent years, while protecting tradition, it has actively challenged low-alcohol sake and brands with a new sense from the desire to bring 'sake into daily life and to the world.' Its sake, in which pure water nurtured by heavy snow and the passion of brewers are fused, eloquently tells of the rich nature and culture of Tsunan Town.
