Hagino Shuzo is a historic sake brewery founded in 1840 (Tenpo 11), located in Kannari Arikabe, Kurihara City, in northern Miyagi Prefecture. The brewery is located opposite the Honjin (main inn for daimyo) of Arikabe-juku, which was a post town on the old Oshu Kaido, and has walked along with the history of the region.
The representative brand "Haginotsuru" aims for a sake with a gentle aroma and a clean taste that can be enjoyed casually like everyday clothes, without being pretentious. In addition, they are taking on the challenge of innovative sake brewing while protecting traditions, such as the brand "Hiwata" which is entirely Yamahai brewed, and the unique "Megane Senyo" (For Glasses Only).
As a member of the DATE SEVEN project, they lead sake brewing in Miyagi together with talented breweries in Miyagi Prefecture, and after the completion of the new brewery in 2012, they are practicing high-quality sake brewing that fuses the latest equipment and traditional techniques.
With the motto of "brewing a little of good things," they continue to brew sake that adds color to the daily lives of drinkers.
