Negami Shuzo-ten

Negami Shuzo-ten is the only local brewery in Gotemba City, located on the southern slope of Mt. Fuji at an altitude of 480 meters. In this breathtaking location with the majestic Mt. Fuji rising directly before it, the brewery continues its sincere craft while breathing in the fresh mountain air.
Its greatest pride lies in using 100% Mt. Fuji groundwater that naturally wells up from 80 meters underground. This spring water, remarkably stable at around 13 degrees Celsius throughout the year and rich in balanced minerals, breathes pristine life into their sake.
President and Master Brewer Yoichi Negami personally leads the brewing process, practicing the time-consuming 'Yamahai' method through traditional techniques. Using only rice and koji, the brewery pursues a meticulous, artisanal craft that balances the robust character of high-altitude brewing with a crystal-clear transparency.
