京都伏見若宮裕吉王が昭和初期に命名した蔵元名を冠した看板銘柄です。
新潟県内でも有数の豪雪地帯である猿橋地区で、2メートルを超える深雪に包まれながら醸される日本酒。
築150年の茅葺き屋根の店舗と毎時6トンの湧水が特徴で、初鮎や純米にごり酒「毘」、スパークリング酒、焼酎「輪月」なども製造しています。
