"Kameno-o" is the flagship brand of Izu Honten, named after the phantom sake rice "Kameno-o."
It uses the sake rice "Kameno-o," which the 11th head succeeded in reviving after 7 years. This rice is a legendary variety discovered in Yamagata Prefecture in the Meiji era. Although it once disappeared due to pests, it is now used in various places thanks to revival cultivation.
Izu Honten uses Kameno-o grown under contract in Munakata City and carefully presses it using the traditional vat pressing (Funa-shibori) method, realizing a sake quality that maximizes the characteristics of the rice. Various types including Junmai Daiginjo are produced, allowing you to enjoy the distinctive flavor unique to Kameno-o.
