Ichinokura was established in 1973 (Showa 48) through the merger of four sake breweries in Miyagi Prefecture (Asami Shoten, Kachiki Shuzo, Sakurai Shuzo Store, and Matsumoto Shuzo Store).
With a strong enthusiasm to "do new sake brewing no matter what," the four breweries strengthened their unity and have cherished the challenge of developing new things and brewing sake while maintaining the goodness of handmade sake brewing and traditional methods.
Their most famous product is the sparkling sake "Suzune," which can be called a pioneer of sparkling sake. It was named because the delicate bubbles rising when poured into a glass seem to play the sound of bells.
The natural carbonation produced by secondary fermentation in the bottle gives a refreshing and pleasant stimulation. This manufacturing method is Ichinokura's patented process (Patent No. 3337198).
"Suzune" won the highest gold award for three consecutive years, the first in the history of the "Sparkling SAKE Category," at the "Fine Sake Awards Japan" from 2012 to 2014.
Headquartered in Matsuyama, Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, they develop a variety of brands while balancing traditional handmade methods with innovative product development.
