"Tamamura Honten" is a long-established brewery founded in 1805 (Bunka 2) by the first Kisoji in Yamanouchi Town at the foot of Shiga Kogen.

For brewing water, they use meltwater from Shiga Kogen that has deeply penetrated the lava layer formed about 50,000 years ago, and they practice sake brewing that spares no effort in small-batch brewing using only Nagano Prefecture rice (Miyama Nishiki, Kinmon Nishiki, Hitogokochi, Sankei Nishiki).
The brewers themselves also cultivate Miyama Nishiki, and by adopting four-season brewing, they realize stable quality sake brewing throughout the year.
