Nishiyama Sake Brewery is a long-established brewery founded in 1849 (Kaei 2), located along the Takeda River in Ichijima-cho, Tamba City.
It is a cultural brewery known for the haiku poet Takahama Kyoshi naming the sake brand "Kotsuzumi" and composing the haiku "Here is excellent sake, name it Kotsuzumi."
Many literary figures gathered from the Taisho to Showa eras, and their works are still displayed inside the shop.
The main building is a tiled wooden two-story building built around 1891 (Meiji 24) and is registered as a Tangible Cultural Property of the country.
Sake brewed with the underflow water of the Takeda River flowing through the mountains is characterized by a gentle taste, and it also annexes "Koden Cafe" with a modern sense, making it a facility where you can experience sake and fermentation culture.
