Fujisaki Sobee Shoten was a prestigious brewery once located in Osato District, Saitama Prefecture, which carved an astounding history of nearly 300 years since its founding in 1728. As a bearer of the local sake culture in the Land of Sai (Saitama) since the Edo period, it walked alongside the lives of local people and produced numerous fine sakes for many years.
The flagship brand "Hakusen" (White Fan) is a name that expresses the auspiciousness of a fan, which invites happiness as it opens wider, and the purity of sake. It inherited traditional brewing techniques through generations and practiced brewing utilizing Osato District's rich natural environment. Although it continued to be loved as a regional pride, primarily with its main Honjozo sake, its history came to a regrettable end amidst the rough waves of changing times and decreasing demand.
Although production has now ended, the story of "Hakusen" woven over three centuries is still carefully recorded as an important page in Saitama Prefecture's sake brewing history. The flavor that once colored regional celebrations and daily dining tables lives on in people's memories as a legendary brand passed down in Chichibu and Osato.
