Kato Shuzo Ten is a brewery that has continued sincere sake brewing in Kanai, Sado Island, since its founding in 1915, prioritizing 'sake that local people enjoy at the daily dining table.' It stands in the rich rural landscape of the Kuninaka Plain, almost in the center of Sado.
In this land with a history of flourishing with former gold mines, it eliminates excessive decoration and pursues the pure deliciousness of rice and the ultimate in refreshing 'Tanrei Karakuchi' (light and dry) style. It is committed to Sado-produced raw rice and uses pure underflow water from within the island for brewing water. It is not flashy, but it is characterized by a strong sake quality that conveys the careful brewing and sincerity with one sip. With little distribution outside the island, it is a 'brewery known to those in the know' that continues to be loved in Sado.
