Hachinohe Syurui Co., Ltd. Hachitsuru Plant is located in Yoikamachi, Hachinohe City. It was founded in the late Edo period when the first Hachiemon Hashimoto purchased a sake shop. Currently, the 9th generation Hachiemon Hashimoto serves as the representative.
The flagship brand "Hachitsuru" was named after the "Mukai-tsuru" (facing cranes) crest of the Nanbu clan, who ruled the Hachinohe Domain during the Edo period, combined with "Hachi" from the local name Hachinohe. The calligraphy on the label is historic, requested from the famous artist Taikan Yokoyama in exchange for 4 to (72L) of the brewery's sake.
The Hachitsuru Plant is also known as the birthplace of the Brewing Association Yeast No. 10, making a significant contribution to the sake industry.
Brewery tours are available upon request, allowing visitors to witness the site of historic sake brewing.
