Chida Shuzo was founded in 1920 (Taisho 9) when the first generation, Yojiro Chida, who was engaged in agriculture and koji making in the Kannari district of Kurihara City, took over a sake brewery in Uguisuzawa Town. The original brand was "Okutsuru."
In search of better brewing water, they moved to the current Kurihara Nakano in 1937 (Showa 12). The 4th generation brewer, Yoshitaka Chida, said, "Rice can be transported from far away, and people can move. However, only water cannot be moved. That is why I think the essence of local sake lies in water," and announced the brand "Kurikomayama" in the 1970s (Showa 50s) with gratitude for the blessings of spring water from Mt. Kurikoma.
They use the very soft, clear, and sharp spring water of Mt. Kurikoma for brewing water, and aim for sake brewing that is "fresh and refreshing, slips in smoothly, goes well with food, and can be drunk continuously."
It is known as a brewery with a reputation for precise data management and quality accuracy, and is highly trusted by drinkers for its quality stability.
