Taniguchi Shuzo is a brewery in Yosano Town, Kyoto, connecting Tango's rich climate and traditional spirit to the next generation.
While originally familiar in the region with the brand "Shiba no I," from a strong desire to make the most of local blessings, they actively use Kyoto's proud sake rice "Iwai." They created new values such as "Tango Okoku" (Tango Kingdom) expressing Tango's identity, and "Jakuchu" merging artistry.
The biggest feature is the deep connection with Ito Jakuchu, Kyoto's representative painter of the Edo period. The "Jakuchu" series, featuring Jakuchu's masterpieces owned by representative Hiroshi Taniguchi on the label, is highly evaluated as "drinking works of art."
Taniguchi Shuzo's attitude where traditional sake brewing skills, Kyoto's history and art, and local ingredients resonate as a trinity continues to propose new ways of enjoying sake to the modern era.
