Eigashima Sake Brewery is a general alcoholic beverage manufacturer founded in 1886 (Meiji 19), boasting over 100 years of tradition.
The founder, Hyokichi Urabe, learned from Yukichi Fukuzawa at the Meishinkan in Kobe, and aimed to unite small-scale brewers and develop the brewing industry as a major industry in the region.
It is one of the few general alcoholic beverage manufacturers in Hyogo Prefecture that produces various types of alcohol such as whiskey "Akashi", shochu, wine, and brandy, mainly focusing on the sake "Kamitaka".
Eigashima has high-quality well water known as "Nishinada's Teramizu", and sake has been brewed for generations using water from a well said to have been dug by Gyoki.
Fusing tradition and innovation, it inherits sake brewing that is deeply connected to the local food culture.
