Itoushuzou

Ito Shuzo was a brewery with a long history, once located in Niigata City, Niigata Prefecture. The name of its flagship brand, 'Nihonkai' (Sea of Japan), expressed the grandeur of the Sea of Japan that Niigata faces and the rich blessings brought by its harsh nature.
They practiced sake brewing with an emphasis on nestling in and walking alongside Niigata's food culture, which is rich in seafood. While it was loved by local people and familiar as a sake that colored the local dining table, it has now unfortunately ceased operations. Their aspirations and the thoughts contained in the brand are still quietly passed down as an important part of memory that tells the history of Niigata's sake.
