Ikejima Shuzo

"Ikejima Shuzo" has been a community-rooted brewery in Ohtawara City, Tochigi, since its founding in 1907. Guided by the family creed that "the master must personally enter the brewery," they have preserved the tradition of hand-brewing for generations. Using the pure groundwater of the Nasu mountains and high-quality rice nurtured by the rich soil of Tochigi, their sake has been widely loved as the "Beautiful Sake of Nasu."
Without relying on mechanization, they adhere to traditional methods, pouring the skilled techniques and passion of their brewers into every drop. Although produced in small quantities, their stance of never compromising on quality is their defining characteristic. The production of their flagship brand "Ikenishiki" and other labels has been passed down to a new structure through a recent business succession, yet their spirit and tradition live on vividly.
The straightforward and warm quality of their sake embodies the rich nature and history of Ohtawara, silently conveying their sincere aspirations with every sip. It is a brewery that continues to pursue sake with a solid core, woven from regional pride and traditional skills.
