Isonosawa

Isonosawa is the only brewery in Ukiha City, Fukuoka Prefecture, founded in the 26th year of Meiji (1893). The company name is derived from the names of the founder Kisaburo Takaki's father "Isokichi" and mother "Sawa."
Ukiha City is a land of famous water selected as one of the "100 Best Water Villages." Isonosawa uses underground water (soft water) from the Minou mountain range gushing from a well on the premises for brewing water. Based on the belief that "where there is famous water, there is famous sake," they brew sake that is mellow and you never get tired of drinking, making use of the good water quality. In recent years, they have also focused on sake brewery tourism, such as opening a sake inn "Ukiha Sake Inn Isonosawa" by renovating an old folk house.
