Kumano Shuzo is a brewery located in Kumihama Town, Kyotango City, Kyoto, with a brewery overlooking the beautiful scenery of Kumihama Bay.
It has a history of being born through the merger of post-war sake breweries, and from its location on the southernmost shore of Kumihama Bay spreading in front of the brewery, the sake was named "Kumino-ura."
While Tajima Toji used to demonstrate their skills in the past, currently the 4th generation owner-Toji Tatsuro Kakimoto inherits the tradition, devoting himself to careful sake brewing by hand.
They use local famous water "Asobiishi no Mizu" as brewing water. They use various rice such as Kyoto's sake rice "Iwai" and "Gohmangoku," and even eating rice Koshihikari. While valuing old tools, they carry through an honest attitude of drawing out rice umami.
Kumano Shuzo's sake, delivering Kumihama's rich climate in a single drop, is full of gentleness that warmly embraces the drinker.
