Seiun Shuzo was founded in 1902 in Ogawa Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture, known as a traditional brewing area. The brand name "Seiun" (Clear Sky Clouds) was born from a poem composed by the founder, Tokutaro Nakayama, who was moved by the divine view from the summit of Mt. Fuji, describing "white clouds floating in a clear sky."
The greatest characteristic is its innovative attitude, constantly challenging new fields while protecting tradition. Particularly, brewing using natural "Flower Yeast" extracted from Dianthus (Nadeshiko) flowers is known as a pioneer in the industry, perfectly harmonizing a gorgeous aroma not found in conventional sake with a deep body.
Also, it values the philosophy of "Mui Shizen" (Non-action and Nature), exploring simple yet life-filled brewing that leaves things to natural laws by removing unnecessary artificiality. At the brewery-attached restaurant "Tamaiya," you can enjoy the marriage woven by local Ogawa organic vegetables and homemade sake, appearing as a base supporting regional food culture. Fusing rich nature, historic buildings, and the latest knowledge, it is a prestigious brewery that continues brewing drops that clear even people's hearts.
