Kamonosho Sake Brewery Co., Ltd. is a small-scale brewery founded in 1867 (Keio 3) located in Ichijima-cho, Tamba City, self-proclaimed as "Japan's smallest brewery."
Formerly focused on bulk sales, the brewery owner challenged sake brewing alone from his 50s, developing unique sake brewing rooted in the region.
In 2004 (Heisei 16), it brewed "Hyakunin Isshu," a Junmai Namazake, using Koshihikari rice brought by about 100 local farmers, practicing sake brewing integrated with the community.
The label design was handled by local Buddhist print artist Kanransai and calligrapher Shugyoku Kurihara, and collaboration with local artists is also a feature.
Under the belief that passion for sake brewing is second to none in the country despite being a small brewery, it has also been selected as a regional specialty product.
