Tentaka Shuzo

Tentaka Shuzo is a brewery founded in 1914, located in Ohtawara City, Tochigi. It is so highly regarded for its crisp character that people say "if you want dry sake, choose Tentaka," pursuing a "powerful dry style" where sharp acidity harmonizes with the umami of rice. Utilizing pure groundwater from the Nasu mountains and carefully selected local sake rice, they brew sake by merging traditional techniques with modern quality control.
A major feature of the brewery is its early adoption of organic brewing. Having simultaneously obtained organic certifications in Japan, the United States, and Europe, their "Tentaka Organic" series, which pushes environmental consideration and food safety to the limit, is highly acclaimed both domestically and internationally.
With flagship brands like "Tentaka," the premium "Tentaka Kokoro" which pursues noble flavors, and the experimental "Kyu-bi" (Nine-Tailed Fox) inspired by local legends, the brewery stays rooted in tradition while constantly exploring the future of sake.
