Wakazeki Shuzo involves a unique origin, established when three traditional breweries in the Nakadori region of Fukushima unified their aspirations after cooperating in bottling operations.
With the goal of being "a young and powerful brewery standing as a gate (seki) representing the region," they are known for their thorough commitment to their home city of Koriyama. They use 100% locally produced rice, yeast, and even water. Furthermore, they practice the ultimate "local production for local consumption" philosophy with all their craftsmen residing within Koriyama City.
Brewed with the famous "Oido no Shimizu" spring water of the Abukuma Mountains, their sake—including labels like "Sakamizuki," named after an ancient word for a banquet—harmonizes friendliness with dignity, staying close to Fukushima's food culture. They continue to pursue true local sake that condenses Koriyama's terroir to complement local ingredients.
