Isaka Shuzojo, located in Inaba-cho, Kishiwada City, Osaka, is a long-established brewery that has preserved its traditions for about 200 years since its founding in 1818 (Bunka 15). Shunning mass production, it conveys "traditional handmade brewing" with a thorough focus on quality to the present day.
The most significant feature of the brewery is that the entire process, from washing rice to pressing, is carried out by a small group of only four people, including the current owner, Yoshitsugu Isaka. Despite its small annual production of about 300 koku, they maintain extremely meticulous brewing, imbuing every single drop with sincerity and passion.
The flagship brand "Miwafuku" is a prestigious name that was specially permitted to be used by Miwa Myojin (Omiwa Shrine) in Nara Prefecture, known as the god of sake. With a history of winning gold medals at the National New Sake Awards, its quality is guaranteed; however, as most of it is consumed around local Kishiwada, it is also known as a "phantom local sake" that is rarely seen in other regions.
In addition, they produce brands full of playfulness and regional love, such as "Danjiri," the soul of Kishiwada, and "Rokko Oroshi," which is persistently popular among Hanshin Tigers fans. Rooted in the climate of Kishiwada, it is a sincere and warm brewery that continues to support the lives and joys of the local people.
