Founded in 1915, Kunpeki Shuzo is located in a scenic spot overlooking the cherry blossom trees of the Gojo River in Konan City, which is counted among the 100 best cherry blossom spots in Japan.
Under the 4th generation head Hiroyasu Murase, who became Aichi Prefecture's first "brewer-owner" (Kuramoto-toji), they stick to traditional all-manual brewing using the clear subsoil water of the Kiso River and locally grown "Yumegingah" sake rice.
Noteworthy is their sake brewing using a unique "Sakura Yeast" isolated from the cherry blossom petals of the Gojo River.
Its flavor, harmonizing a gorgeous aroma that evokes the breath of spring with a gentle and deep umami characteristic of soft water brewing, is truly a blissful drop resulting from regional nature and passion.
