Wakanami Shuzo is a brewery founded in the Taisho era as a branch family of Imamura Honke Shuzo, located in Kanegae, Okawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture. The brewery name "Wakanami" (Young Wave) is derived from the young waves of the Chikugo River (also known as Chikushi Jiro) flowing in front of the brewery.
At the brewery, a team of five people centered on siblings is working on sake brewing, practicing careful handmade production despite the small scale. The young generation centered on Yuka Imamura develops sake brewing adding new sensibilities while inheriting tradition.
Using the groundwater of the Yabe River flowing near the brewery as brewing water, this high-quality water brings a refreshing feeling to the sake quality. In addition to the main brands "Wakanami" and "Tombo," they also handle innovative products such as liqueurs using strawberries "Amaou" and "Qdamon."
