Matsunoi Shuzojo

Matsunoi Shuzojo was founded in 1894 (Meiji 27) by Eiho Furusawa through independent branch formation and has carved out over 130 years of history in Ueno, Tokamachi City, Niigata. The brewery name 'Matsunoi' was given with gratitude and attachment to this land blessed with clusters of pine trees and high-quality well water.
It uses pure snowmelt water from Tokamachi, one of the world's leading heavy snowfall areas, as brewing water. Using this pure water and locally produced sake rice, it continues sincere brewing by fusing traditional handmade skills with modern brewing technology.
With the motto 'sake that one never grows tired of and that stays close to daily life,' it develops a wide range from daily sake supporting regional food culture to flowery Junmai Daiginjo. Its plump and firm flavor, as if reflecting Tokamachi's severe winter and the warmth of people overcoming it, is supported by many sake lovers.
