Musashitsuru Shuzo, founded in 1819 in Ogawa Town, Hiki District, Saitama Prefecture, is a long-established brewery boasting a history of over 200 years. In Ogawa Town, long praised as the "Nada of Kanto" and known as a famous brewing area, it has protected brewing passed down through generations, utilizing the severe winter cold unique to the Hiki Basin and clear underground water flowing from the Chichibu mountain range.
The greatest commitment is the "hand-made" spirit, valuing human hand sensations and warmth without relying too much on machinery. Emphasizing craftsman's skills and experience, it persists in careful brewing that draws out the individuality of each rice grain. Its technical capability is highly evaluated, being a talented brewery that once achieved first place in the Sake Awards of the Kanto-Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau.
The flagship brand "Musashitsuru" features a deep flavor where rich rice umami and soft mouthfeel coexist, such as Junmai Ginjo and Daiginjo using 100% Saitama brewing rice "Sake Musashi." Additionally, the additive-free "homemade Narazuke" pickles made alongside brewing have many fans and are loved as an item that makes you feel the brewery's tradition. Although currently on leave, its polished tradition and technology are still passed down as important assets symbolizing Ogawa Town's brewing culture.
