Hosoi Shuzo was once a historical brewery located in Yosano Town (formerly Kaya Town), Yosa District, Kyoto, nurtured by the rich nature of the Tango Peninsula.
The flagship brand "Heiankyo Jiman," as its name suggests, was brewed aiming for a dignified taste that makes one feel the elegance of Kyoto and Heian. While long loved by local people as a sake that stayed close to celebratory days and daily dining tables of the region, they have currently closed their brewing business.
The sake quality created from Tango's severe winter and clear water was a testament to honest and sincere production.
Although the brewery is closed, its history and the name of "Heiankyo Jiman" are still passed down in the region as memories that colored Tango's sake culture.
