Bandai Shuzo, founded in 1890, is a brewery located at the foot of Mount Bandai—Aizu's sacred peak—where history and faith breathe together. Using the pure underflow nurtured by the majestic mountains and sake rice grown in Bandai Town, they continue to brew community-rooted sake that "makes one want to talk about dreams."
Their most distinctive feature is the meticulous pressing using the traditional "Sase-style" fune (tank), now rare in larger breweries. Taking two long days to let every drop fall naturally and gently, the nature of Bandai is concentrated in every drop.
The pillar of their brands is the supreme "Jotanbo," positioned above the flagship "Bandaisan." Bearing the name of the head monk of Enichi-ji Temple—the birthplace of Aizu's Buddhist culture—this sake possesses noble dignity and depth. Additionally, "Aizu Sakura," a beautiful red sake using ancient rice, has been a long-selling brand for 20 years. While preserving traditional brewing techniques, they are the pride of Bandai, delivering Aizu's history and mystery to modern dining tables.
