Tsujun Shuzo

Tsujun Shuzo is a sake brewery located in Yamato Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture, brewing sake in a region known for Tsujun Bridge, a nationally designated Important Cultural Property. It uses subterranean water from the Aso outer rim mountains for brewing, with a distinctive approach that takes advantage of the cool climate of high-altitude Yamato Town. Sake rice is carefully selected to suit Yamato Town's natural environment, primarily from Kumamoto Prefecture. Though small in scale, the brewery is committed to meticulous handcrafting, producing distinctive brands that express the regional terroir. Its brand lineup, including Tsujun as well as nature-inspired names like Semi (cicada), Hibari (skylark), and Hotarumaru, reflects a deep respect for nature.
