"Ozawa Shuzojo" is a brewery that has been brewing sake in Shinshu-Shinmachi since the Bunsei era (early 1800s).
With an annual production volume of about 70 koku, it is one of the smallest breweries in Japan.
In 1998 (Heisei 10), it temporarily stopped brewing due to decreased demand, but the brewery owner's wife, Ms. Miyuki Ozawa, learned from rice growing, repeated test brewing, and revived the brewery as the 8th generation owner and Toji.
They restarted with a small-scale, high-quality approach using Miyama Nishiki rice grown by contract farmers in local Shinshu-Shinmachi.
