Okitama Gokurakai

Okitama Gokurakai is an ambitious collaborative organization formed by five breweries in Yamagata's Okitama region: Kamogawa, Naganuma, Suzuki Shuzoten Nagai Kura, Wakanoi, and Nakaoki.
Founded by five brewery owners who also serve as head brewers (Kuramoto-Toji), they aim to revitalize regional tourism and promote Okitama's rich sake culture under the slogan "Okitama: Village of Stylish Breweries."
Through unique initiatives like the "Gorenja" project—where they divide rice from the same field among five breweries to showcase distinct house styles—they continue to explore the multifaceted charm of Japanese sake.
