Yoshie Shuzo, located in Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture, is an exceptionally small, family-run brewery. With only three people—the president and his two sons—they meticulously produce a limited quantity of about 80 koku per year (approx. 8,000 1.8L bottles) without any compromise.
The brewery owner also serves as the Toji, using pristine underground water from the Shogawa River and carefully selected Toyama-grown rice like 'Gohyakumangoku' and 'Yamada Nishiki.' Through detailed management and the love inherent in a family business, they create high-quality, delicately craft sake.
The flagship brand 'Tachiyama' is named after the sacred peak that symbolizes Toyama, and as its name suggests, it pursues the pinnacle of a sharp and crisp 'dry' flavor. Their sake, which offers a strong character and profound depth only possible through small-scale production, is highly acclaimed by dry-sake enthusiasts nationwide as a hidden gem.
