Senkin Distillery

Senkin is an innovative sake brewery in Sakura City, Tochigi, founded in 1886. It was one of the first in the sake industry to introduce the "Domaine" concept, strictly adhering to the terroir by using only rice harvested from fields within the same watershed as its brewing water.
The 11th-generation head, Kazuhito Usui, a former sommelier, established a new style of sake that pursues a beautiful harmony of wine-like acidity and sweetness, while cherishing traditional methods like Kimoto brewing and the use of Kioke (wooden vats).
Led by its flagship brand "Senkin," the brewery's approach of maximizing local character has gained immense support not only from sake fans worldwide but also from wine enthusiasts.
