Myoko Shuzo

Myoko Shuzo, established in 1815 (Bunka 12), is a brewery in Joetsu, Niigata, with over 200 years of history. Nestled in the rich nature of the Kubiki Plain at the foot of the sacred Mount Myoko, it utilizes pure subsoil water originating from the Myoko mountain range. Its most distinctive feature is a flexible approach that respects traditional techniques while constantly incorporating new sensibilities. The brewery expands the possibilities of sake with diverse expressions, such as 'Chateau Myoko'—a Gold Medal winner in international contests and a pioneer in enjoying sake in wine glasses—and 'Koshino Setsugetsuka,' a high-quality line with rigorous bottle pasteurization and low-temperature management. Myoko Shuzo also practices maturation in 'yukimuro' (snow cellars), unique to snow country. The mellow and elegant flavors nurtured by Myoko's terroir continue to captivate enthusiasts worldwide.
