Saga Prefecture is a production area for high-quality rice on the Saga Plain and is rich in water resources from the Sefuri and Tara mountain ranges. Breweries pump underground water from the Sefuri Mountains from 200m deep or use quality underground water flowing from Mt. Sefuri, supporting sake brewing with clear water.
Saga's representative sake rice 'Saikai 134' is an original prefectural variety. 'Saga no Hana' was born from crossing Wakamizu and Yamada Nishiki; it has higher lodging resistance than Yamada Nishiki, large grain size, and high shinpaku rate. Breweries also quickly adopted in-house cultivation of 'Yamada Nishiki,' succeeding in self-cultivation.
Saga sake is famous for being 'Nojun Amakuchi' (rich and sweet), characterized by deep flavor, richness, and volume. You can enjoy flavors unique to Saga woven from Sefuri underground water and original prefectural sake rice.
