Kitanosho
The name "Kitanosho" derives from the fact that Funaki Shuzo's family crest, "Three Wild Geese" (Karigane), resembled the crest of Shibata Katsuie, a fierce warlord who was the lord of Kitanosho Castle (near the current Fukui Castle ruins). True to its name, it features a majestic taste that evokes the romance of history. "Echizen Misaki" is the current flagship brand born as Tanabe Shuzo focused on specific designation sake. Contrary to the brand name evocative of the rough waves of Fukui's severe winter and the strength living there, it features a delicate and transparent taste.
