Miinokotobuki is a brewery founded in the Taisho era, located in Eiden, Tachiarai Town, Mii District, Fukuoka Prefecture. Inoue Gomei Kaisha, the brewery owner, has a history of over 130 years and is known for sake brewing that fuses science, sense, and passion.
The feature of the brewery is the fusion of a thorough scientific approach and traditional sensibilities. While finely recording and analyzing temperature management and fermentation data, they practice sake brewing utilizing the experience and intuition of the Toji (master brewer). Due to this attitude, they have received high praise at domestic and international appraisals, and have won numerous awards at international competitions such as IWC (International Wine Challenge) and Kura Master in particular.
As an interesting episode, it is known that Takehiko Inoue, the author of the manga "Slam Dunk," is a big fan of this brewery and took the name of the character "Hisashi Mitsui" from the brewery owner's surname Inoue (and the brand name). To commemorate this, collaboration projects are also being developed, such as sake with alcohol content of 14 degrees named after Hisashi Mitsui's uniform number and special products released on his birthday, May 22nd.
