Kanemitsu Sake Brewing was founded in Taisho 15 (1926) and has a brewery at 5031 Kagawa, Yamaguchi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture. The haiku poet 'Taneda Santoka' ran a sake brewing business in the prefecture for about 10 years from Meiji 40 (25 years old), but went bankrupt in Taisho 5. There is a historical connection that the predecessor company of Kanemitsu Sake Brewing absorbed and merged Santoka's company, and 'Santoka', which has now become the representative brand of Kanemitsu Sake Brewing, was born in memory of Santoka.
In order to let people know the goodness of Yamaguchi, all of our sake uses brewing rice from Yamaguchi Prefecture, using 100% rice from Yamaguchi Prefecture, and thorough quality control is carried out by small-quantity production. The high quality is evaluated, such as winning the gold prize multiple times in the 'National New Sake Appraisal' sponsored by the National Tax Agency's National Research Institute of Brewing.
