Ikeda Shuzo was a historic brewery founded in Takamatsu City in 1872 (Meiji 5).
They manufactured the main brand 'Rakushin' and continued sake brewing loved by the region, but closed down in 2005.
After closing, the 4th generation brewer Yoshinori Ikeda chose a new path of sake brewing in Shodoshima, and cooperated with Yukihiro Morikuni to establish Shodoshima Shuzo (Morikuni Shuzo). The tradition and technology of Ikeda Shuzo's sake brewing came to be inherited in a new form in the new land of Shodoshima.
As a brewery that supported the sake brewing industry in Kagawa Prefecture for many years and contributed greatly to the subsequent revival of sake brewing in Shodoshima, it has carved its name in the history of sake in Kagawa Prefecture.
