Kotegawa Shuzo is a historic sake brewery founded in 1855 (Ansei 2) in Usuki City. It is also known as the birthplace of the writer Nogami Yaeko.
The brewery produces brands named after the Christian daimyo Otomo Sorin, pursuing a unique flavor that transcends the boundary between sake and shochu. Aging through traditional jar (kame) storage is also a distinctive feature.
Brewing sake with rich and distinctive flavors, the brewery also proposes new ways of enjoying sake, such as serving it on the rocks.
