Eisen Shuzo

Eisen Shuzo, founded in 1869, is a prestigious brewery that has walked alongside Aizu's history, carving out a new frontier with an ultimate commitment to water.
The turning point came in 1989. Fearing changes in water quality due to urban development, the 5th generation Hisaji Miyamori searched all over Aizu for ideal water. Falling in love with the pure underflow of the "Top 100 Waters of Japan" springing from the western foot of Mount Bandai, he made the bold decision to relocate the entire brewery to this land. This rich water brings a refined "pure transparency" to Eisen's sake quality.
The pillars of their brands are "Eishiro," bearing the founder's name, and "Aizu Ryugasawa," which reflects Aizu's dragon god legend. Particularly, "Ryugasawa" continues to gain new fans with its fresh and powerful taste that lets one directly feel the life force of the famous water. Now operating as Tenkyo Co., Ltd., they continue to be an innovative brewery broadcasting Bandai's nature and tradition to the world while pursuing synergy with whisky production at Tenkyo Distillery.
