The Kitakata/Sakashita/Takada Area 14 Breweries is a collaborative project between multiple breweries in the Aizu region of Fukushima, centered in Kitakata City, Aizu-Sakashita Town, and Aizu-Misato Town (Takada district).
Aizu is one of Japan's leading sake-producing regions, blessed with abundant snowmelt, high-quality sake rice, and severe winter cold—ideal for brewing. Kitakata is famous as a "town of storehouses," while Sakashita has long flourished as a transportation hub.
These 14 breweries (11 in Kitakata, 3 in Sakashita) cooperate to promote the Aizu terroir, using soft groundwater from the Iide Mountains and local rice to share the region's rich brewing culture with the world.
